Use the safe dataset deprecation Skill
The checked-in Skill gives a coding agent a bounded procedure for one dataset retirement. It operates a configured local Payne checkout; it is not a hosted API and does not gain authority beyond Payne.
pnpm payne-agent -- --helpEach non-help command returns one JSON envelope with schema version
payne-agent-client/v1, ok, operation, data, warnings, and
nextActions. Failures use normalized safe codes. The client never prints
credentials, provider output, or stack traces.
For the exact envelope shape and operation flags, open the checked-in
skills/safe-dataset-deprecation/references/operation-contract.md. The
skills/safe-dataset-deprecation/examples/fixture-validation-output.md file is
derived from the published validation receipt and is labelled fixture output,
not current DataHub or application evidence.
Start with capabilities, resolve names with find-dataset, run find-gate
before create, check worker-status, then investigate and inspect. The Skill
can prepare the supported artifact. It cannot accept or apply it, write DataHub
metadata, set gate state, or authorize shutdown.
pnpm test skills/safe-dataset-deprecation/safe-dataset-deprecation.test.tsUse Evidence semantics, Monitoring recovery, the Migration artifact contract, DataHub write-back, Agent safety, and Inference troubleshooting for the contracts behind the Skill’s response.
